I've seen a model of a bird feeding puppet, and it was rather rough in 
design, but it still seemed to work.
So, removing the fur around the mouth area might change the design a bit, 
but will the chicks really see a difference?

What is the puppet made of?
Is it latex or silicone?
Or is it another material that is food-safe?
