I've seen powerful results on art "stuffed animals" that were painted with good quality fabric dyes. The artists diluted the powdered dye just enough to have a liquid paint consistency. The fabric was slightly moistened when she needed gradients, and not moistened when she needed sharp brush marks. The only bit of info that's missing for me is how she made sure the dye held steady. Probably the type of dye she used. The type I used (Tintex) requires the fabric and dyes to stay in hot boiling water for at least 20 minutes...which excludes this "painting" technique. _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
