Great fun! As an art history major, I learned about Hieronymous Bosch's fanciful altarpieces---which seemed like another world rife with hidden meanings. The Codex by Serafni evokes some of the same feelings. -----Original Message----- From: puppetpro-AT-aol.com Sent: Sunday, January 25, 2009 11:16 AM To: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] Luigi Serafini Here's another link, which reminds me a great deal of puppet design -- skeletons waiting for their skin. http://www.believermag.com/issues/200705/codex_seraphinianus/?view=5 Rolande -----Original Message----- From: puppetpro-AT-aol.com To: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Sent: Sun, 25 Jan 2009 1:50 pm Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] Luigi Serafini Don't know if anyone on the list is familiar with this "codex" -- but it is a remarkable piece of work, an encyclopedia of things from another world, written in a totally alien language. The creatures described and drawn, the "fashions" -- all very surreal, and a great font of inspiration for puppetry. http://www.io.com/~iareth/codindx.html Rolande _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
