If it is important to you to preserve the authencity of the tale then choose a gentle tale. You have no idea the power of the puppet. Like I said, this is a very open minded town, liberal town. In our community people value the wisdom of these old tales and would *want* them preserved. They understand that although they may at times seem violent, it is not pointless violence and is framed in a way to help kids understand the role of good and evil in the world. These stories tap into a child's unconscious minds in a deep way and can actually help them to make sense of their physical and spiritual worlds. These tales are important, and while while we do plan on making a statement at the beginning of the show, we will make no apologizes. The integrity of the tale and our passion for the stories is what is important here and what drives us. One of the festivals we will be performing the show at will be The Faerie Worlds festival, which is produced by friends of ours in conjunction with Brian and Wendy Froud . Hopefully, I will be able to get their feedback on the show as well. That said, we do have a long way to go and I am glad that I found this list and all the many experienced puppeteers to refer to... ~ Pixie -- Enchanted Gypsy ~ Travel Diaries http://www.enchantedgypsy.blogspot.com/ _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
