Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] New Awesome sculpting videos

Hi Mathieu,

Yes I recently saw those Philippe Faraut videos on Youtube as well, aren't
they great?! I was thinking of buying his first book (maybe after I've earnt
a bit of monies).

Also, I have used Z-brush, it is good but some things about it are
frustrating at first (simple things like moving the camera around your
object feel clunky, especially alongside other 3D modelling programs like
Silo 2). Personally, after learning how to box-model in Silo, I actually
found this much more satisfying than attempting to sculpt in Z-brush,
because I felt so much more in control. Z-brush is a good program, and you
can make things from scratch in it, but for now I think I will continue to
use both programs to complete models (I make them as complete as possible
with box-modelling, then take it to Z-brush for the little details). I will
update my website soon when I have a few finished models (currently learning
how to texture and render nicely).

And you really really would need a tablet! Trying to sculpt with a mouse
would be like trying to recreate a Van Gogh with a biro.
