Hey Hobey, this is turning into quite the brainstorming session!

You mention 2D articulated figures, and I envision them with joints that 
allow them to bend like a 3D figure would, defying normal anatomy, but 
probably catching the light quite nicely.
Like a less distorted version of cubism, or maybe a much less ambitious one.

Probably not for this project (her figures don't need articulations), but 
definitely in  my future.

Now where would you put a Peeper on your concept?
Giving life to the proscenium itself?
