Subject: [Puptcrit] Coraline, puppets & Neil Gaiman

In 2007 and 2008 Sean Cawelti & Miles Taber scripted and produced the Gaiman PUNCH story on 2 Los Angeles theatre stages using masked and un-masked actors, shadow puppets, videos and Punch & Judy puppets.

Puca Puppets, an Irish puppet company did CORALINE with Bunraku-type puppets in 2006.

See the next issue of Puppetry Journal and a new book, "CORALINE: A Visual Companion" by Stephen Jones (a photo of the Irish show is included)

Japanese artist Tadahiro Uesugi did a lot of concept art for CORALINE. The piano used by Coraline's dad is a Tadahiro brand---a little inside joke in the movie.
