People have historically made big money when they push that reality further out into thin air. Everyone has suddenly woken up and the dream is over. Like all good dreams that have come to an end, it is impossible to jump back into it no matter what you do. We are waking up from an unreal expectation of our world to provide. It has been said that within 20 years at the current rate of development we will require 5 earths to provide the raw materials to everyone now expecting a seat at the table. In cartoon terms right now we are the guy running furiously in thin air trying to get back onto solid ground. We cannot consume our way out of this or spend our way out of it. The spending will be nice and might provide some comfort to us but we don't even have that money we are planning on spending. If we woke up tomorrow and found that the economy was in perfect shape and we continued on our old trajectory we will still hit the wall. So many things have boiled to a head and the ground beneath us has shifted. Now would be a real good time to check out the foundation of what we are trying to rebuild. -------------------- Good analysis!
