Yes, looking at pattern and sewing books will show you several ways to deal with curved seams, from clipping the edge up close to the sew line, to cutting the pattern with a slight curve, to easing a curve, to various gathering techniques. It might be useful to make some regular clothes for yourself, from some patterns (try the EZ and Quick Sew patterns), to become more familiar with the techniques. Sewing in miniature can be rather frustrating sometimes, especially for the inexperienced. For instance, the fabric bulk that would be okay spread over a 15" neck doesn't always work the same way when reduced to a 1.5" neck. But knowing how it is done in full size helps a lot when shrinking it down for a puppet.
