"Oh, I would love to do it for free, but my wife/girlfriend/daughter/son tells me he/she needs
shoes, etc. and I would go broke doing all free shows!" But thanks for asking. JG

Subject: [Puptcrit] selling to clients who want a free puppet show

Hi all,

I previously posted that a wealthy non-profit had requested a free
puppet show.

I remember that puppeteers had previously posted having a difficulty
with this situation and telling clients what to do with their free
show offers, etc. However, I wouldn't suggest an angry response as a
good way to conduct a business. So, in my quest to find a good and
useful response that will also help to sell the show, I thanked them
for the honor of the invitation and offered a very affordable
discount from the regular price.

I will post again and let you know if it works!

Michael
