Subject: [Puptcrit] Oko - our 2006 short puppet film's trailer

The short film my frequent colleague Daniel and I worked on back in 2006 is
now finished, and ready for distribution. It is meant for film festivals and
TV stations.

We finally saw it on a real cinema screen during a film festival just about
two weeks ago.
We're proud of the result. Not unlike something the director said in a
speech once: we were in way over our heads, but we pulled something off, and
the long wait was worth it.

A trailer has been made, and for now can be seen on my Lab blog:
http://creaturisteworkshops.blogspot.com/2009/03/oko-2006-puppet-short-film.html

Tell us what you think, I'll transmit the comments to the director.

The same trailer (probably in bigger screen size) will soon be available on
the Director's website when it officially goes fully online this week or
next. If you are interested in seeing the short film, please contact Alain
Fournier, the Director. He has it on DVD.

The future:
Mainly the same creative team made another short puppet movie in 2008,
filmed in December.
It should be ready later this year, the CGI department has a lot of work to
do, considering we shot it all on Red camera (four times the quality of HD)
with a lot of scenes shot on green screen.
This one is a lot more dynamic, due in great part to the puppet type:
tabletop rod puppet.
We made all the rods removable and interchangeable, for special scenes, so
direct action and reaction is totally smooth. i can't wait to see that one
on the big screen!
