That's exactly where I first learned the technique, from Nikki.  If you look
at any pictures of Muppets being performed overhead, you'll see the
puppeteers in this position.

Some years ago I took an acting class from Nikki Tilroe in which she had
specific postures for puppeteering with one's arms overhead.  As Preston
said, in a previous message, it is a matter of relaxing the back backward
from the waist.  This not only reduces the strain on the arm muscles but
also the vocal muscles.

I believe Nikki wrote a book on Acting With Puppets -- perhaps the P of A
Bookstore carries it.
