It's called "cut and paste". As long as you know the keyboard shortcuts, you can do it in seconds. For example, on a pc: 1-read email. 2-select the text portion you need and copy it to the clipboard (CTRL-C) 3- hit reply button 4-click once in the message window. 5-select and delete entire message body, by pressing CTRL-A, then DELETE. 6- paste the selected text you had in the clipboard, by pressing CTRL-V Add whatever you want, and hit reply. The keyboard shortcuts are similar on a mac, although the CTRL is replaced by the Apple button, I think. It's been a while, although last night I dreamed I had to change the settings on an old Mac Performa, but I didn't use keyboard shortcuts.
