Hello Betty,

If you have a Mac, all the software you need for video production
comes pre-installed right out of the box. imovie HD is a great
editing suite and handshakes with iDVD for seamless DVD production.
You can import music from itunes or create your own music and voice-
overs in garage band, then add it to your movie. Dollar for dollar,
considering all the software that comes with it, a mac is a great
investment. Oh, macs can also run windows if you prefer that
interface and have already made the investment in expensive software.

As far as upgrading the memory to host software, do you mean for
installing the software on your computer? Not enough storage space
left on the box? If so, you're looking at a hard drive upgrade.
Memory is a completely different thing. Memory actually is what your
computer uses to run software more efficiently and is usually sold in
chipsets that you have to install on the logic board of your
computer. It's a fairly straightforward process that is easy to do.
The hardest part of the operation is to determine what the maximum
amount of memory your computer supports and what flavor it is
(SODIMMS, DIMMS, RIMMS, SD, etc.). Look in you owners manual to find
this out or search your particular make and model of computer on the
web for the specs. From there you just purchase what you need and
install it when it arrives.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Sincerely,
