Christopher, I read this thread with a lot of interest. I have been known to accept to offer my services for free. In the Puppetry field, I only gave twice so far, just because those were the requests I got. The first instance was mostly a waste of my time and money (transportation) as the organization was so chaotic as to be downright self-destructive. Very few people showed up, and there were only two profesionnals participating in the whole puppetry event. The other event was a lot of fun to attend, I met interesting people, and it started a new tradition for me: making puppets and masks in the parks during the warm season. When I do it, not only do I get more sunshine and fresh air, but I get to meet more of these interesting people, some of which are interested in taking workshops. So, even if the first goal is to help a cause, other benefits do come around. I intend to do more giving. _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
