Between business, health, home, auto, life, etc., insurance is probably the single biggest monthly cost. I'm too scared to to the math, but added together it seems likely it exceeds 50% of my income. Sometimes it seems like I am a reverse employee of the insurance industry. I work hard, them give THEM a paycheck. Tort reform would go a long way to curbing the spiraling costs of insurance. (But I'm not looking to open another political thread, so those with a political bent, please ignore this post.)
