Like unfinished jigsaw puzzles. For instance, a neutral example, from time to time I have tried to update a list of postage stamps with puppets on them. I know that the possibilities are strong that I've missed some thing(s), but the list is the most accurate information I could access for the time being, and with the help of input from others, it can be improved by additional information. So it is with lists of puppeteers, but the information in Puppetry International is still an accomplishment. Everything will not fit into one issue. But it is a fine beginning. -----Original Message----- From: Hobey Ford Sent: Friday, April 24, 2009 10:14 AM To: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] UNIMA-USA's 40 under 40 I enjoyed the issue but did have problems with the ommissions. (for the record I'm 51) Why start then on such a list. It can only end up being perceived as hierarchical or elitist. P of A has done this sort of things at least a couple of times. Timeline of puppeteers in the 20th C or The Master Puppeteer title. Doesn't feel good to be left out and its impossible and meaningless to include everyone and purely subjective and often perceived as political or crony-istic as to who is chosen. There are plenty of themes and projects that don't wander into this quagmire. _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
