Subject: [Puptcrit] Mr. Punch head - 'work in progress'

I've seen a lot of Mr Punch heads. They can vary from very simple to very rococo. Some are mean, some diabolical. Others impish like yours (my favorite approach). Audiences should have no difficulty in recognizing him and relating to him.

Subject: [Puptcrit] Mr. Punch head - 'work in progress'

Hi everyone,

I've been recently inspired to share some work-in-progress, and suddenly
remembering this list is called 'puppet crit' I thought I would actually
post something up for some criticism, if anyone is interested. I am
sculpting a Mr. Punch head for a hand puppet, I'm sort of rounding off the
big details now but before things get too final I thought I would share it
in case anyone might have some suggestions for improvement. My photos are a
bit naff but hopefully you can get the gist... (for some reason I found his
face very difficult to photograph).
I have a feeling one complaint might be that I've made his ears too pointy,
what do we think on this issue? Is it terrible sacrilege to make him
pixie-like?
Here's the link: http://katy.idlecreations.com/punch.html
All suggestions welcome! I'll probably not re-sculpt the whole thing (I'm
itching to mould him) but I would like to hear your views.

Cheers in advance,

Katy
