Yeah, we had a clause in the contract. They "would have" (yeah right!) given me a percentage of the sales of products derived from my designs. As for copyright, they owned the image of everything. As most of my corporate customers have asjed in the past (I only made some corporate works for Air Canada, a TV show on YTV, and those honorless ones I just wrote about who stiffed me last year, despite their big promises of big money for all involved, and reassurances that I would be paid easily within 3 months. It's been over a year and a half). I feel like telling the world about them, very publicly, but as satisfying that might feel, I would be the one suffering for it. Some people would actually think I'm the complaining one, liying about it all, to get their money (alas, they are not famous enough to be truly rich). So, I'll just keep on warning my colleagues in person, when the topic emerges. Word gets out no matter what. I've heared a few examples of non-paying people we should be weary of in the businesses I work in locally. For other big contracts, I'll ask for a one-time fee (must be paid before the puppets are handed in) to sell them those rights. That way, i won,t have to worry about enforcing payments. That's a very good piece of advice I got from someone here on Puptcrit. I think it was two of them actually, one of which I think was William... _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
