Well, the search function there is not the greatest, but it _does_ take into account both the bodies and the subjects of messages. One of the problems with that search function is that it is two-level. So, for example, if I click on the puptcrit archive, and I enter "Alan Cook" (wthout quotes) in the search box on top, I get a list of monthly files in which the string "Alan Cook" occurs anywhere. If I then click on any of those monthly files, I can, once again, enter "Alan Cook" in the search box, and this time I get detailed search results (with context) which permit me to locate individual messages, from that month, containing the string. This two-level scheme is very suboptimal, as is the fact that one can only search for single words or a literally-correct string (and not for, say, several words at once). The scheme could certainly be improved, but improvement would require a good chunk of time, and this is a commodity I am severely lacking these days. ;-). -m At 2:56 PM -0400 5/26/09, Puppet People wrote: >I just went searching for something in the archives and thankfully I >remembered approximately when it was posted.
