Paul McPharlin was lucky to have a roof over his head, and meals to eat at his parents' home so that he could concentrate on puppeteers and their legacies, start a national puppet organization and preserve many historical puppets now housed at the Detroit Institute of Art. It was a lucky fluke for us.

I'm glad people find my jottings of interest. But from a personal standpoint, I too have struggled to preserve puppets and their history. The International Puppetry Museum could use a lot more help and a lot more funding, but it does exist and several puptcritters have visited us.

Those working for IPM are getting older and we need a permanent home of our own somewhere on the West Coast, where there has been a lot of puppet activity, and where current and future puppeteers would benefit if we had a permanent facility.

I now have 34 essays written to puptcrit by Alan Cook, saved in my computer When I reach 100, I'll shape them into a book (with his permission)!
