Subject: [Puptcrit] puppet opera recordings

That I know of, no videos of our operas are online, except for "Magic
Flute". We were told only an excerpt would be used but, without our
consent, it wound up being used in its entirety. It would have been
a nice courtesy for them to check with all the performers
(puppeteers, singers and musicians). At least, we are happy to be
able to share this opera with you all:

In October, we will be performing Francesca Caccini's "Liberation of
Ruggiero from the Island of Alcina" (most famous as being the first
opera composed by a woman) with Magnificat Baroque Orchestra in
California's Bay Area. They are more tech savvy than us so perhaps
clips will be posted on youtube or something. It is based on a canto
from "Orlando Furioso" but is a part of the epic where Orlando is
absent.

Bruce Chessé got some video clips of our latest production, a
combination of Telemann's "Don Quixote" and "Don Quichotte" (an
orchestral suite and a short opera) with some of our own additions
drawn from Cervantes' novel. I don't know if those are up anywhere.
Maybe Bruce can let us know. He has taken some nice photos of many
of our other operas too.

Best,

Dmitri
