> Hi Everyone,
> The Gorilla Puppetry Project's next deadline is September 1st. The theme for this challenge is "First Kiss", so pucker up and puppet. We look forward to seeing what you do. For complete details visit Gorilla at his web page at www.seabeastpuppetry.com.
> If you know about Gorilla feel free to stop reading now, but if you don't (shock, gasp, horror) let me explain.
> The Gorilla Puppetry Project is an on-line puppetry challenge sponsored by Sea Beast Puppet Company of Chicago. Here is our mission for the project.
> The Gorilla Puppetry Project is an initiative to stimulate and connect the puppetry community in a fun and challenging way. We aim to promote the growth of the puppet artist by presenting small projects with defined themes for each individual to explore and interpret in his or her own way. Then through sharing the work we have all created we can learn from each other and stay connected.
> The way it works is Gorilla issues some sort of challenge which you (the participant) gets to interpret into a short puppet show or film. Then you video your show or edit your film and we all post our work on youtube. You can post it as public or private as long as you let Gorilla know it's up so he can link it to his web site as part of his gallery of work.
> Gorilla or Sea Beast in no way profits from this project. This project is purely meant to benefit the artists who participate and the viewers who enjoy the work. Our hope is that the people who take the time to play will find themselves; creating something they can later expand on, exploring an area of puppetry they are unfamiliar with, collaborating and building relationships with other artists, and finding exposure for their work.
> Basically it's an excuse to make that, just for fun puppet show, you always wanted to make but never had a good excuse to do. We would be honored if you would let us be your excuse.
