He'd walk up and down the line, pick a spot and perform with his Royal Short Shakespeare Company (I think that was the name). He had a very simple stage which he must have worn on his shoulders, and used unadorned Nerf balls for the heads of his puppets. His adaptations of Shakespeare's plays (or comic takes on) only lasted a minute or two. He was absolutely hilarious, had great timing, and instilled a lot of personality into his minimalist-looking puppets. A true artist and a terrible shame that he died so young. When considering convicted murderers who are let out of prison to die in the comfort of freedom, it's important to remember Robert Stroud, the "Birdman of Alcatraz." While serving time, he became a world famous, self-educated scientist and expert in the field of ornithology, who actually discovered medical cures for bird diseases. He was never let out of jail and died behind bars.
