I keep CD's for backup in case I have a problem with the ipod. I also have an amp that you can connect the ipod directly to it and it will recharge the ipod even as it is playing. The amp can also recharge itself when plugged into a wall outlet so that it can be used without electricity for an outdoor show (or some of the day care centers that I play where the outlet is in an inconvenient spot from the stage area.) bob brown In a message dated 8/24/2009 7:55:20 P.M. I keep a copy of my show soundtrack on an ipod shuffle, the cheapest ipod model. I still prefer the CD player as I don't trust the ipod not to fail. My daughter's have all broken several ipods over the years (though they tended to break lots of things I manage not to break). I'd worry about having a full charge ready to go. Lots of folks are using ipods for their shows and seem to be happy with the results. You might want to invest in a backup ipod shuffle. (though the remote won't work on a shuffle) Its good to have something to fall back on.
