I also noticed, since the first post, that my fully dried paper mache puppet 
head is still easy to sand, carve, and pierce, contrary to the results I 
would get with PVA glues.
Which is a major advantage to me.

I must repeat that this test was done using the Paper Mache Bark method, 
over a clay model (positive mold).

The paper strips method shall be tested with methyl cellulose next time I 
use a negative mold.
So far, I've only made a test doing three layers of srips with methyl 
cellulose, and it was far less sturdy than the same amount of layers using 
PVA glue.
Yet that means almost nothing, since none of my hollow paper mache projects 
are ever less than 6 layers.
