Subject: [Puptcrit] New US Postage Stamps honor Kukla,

It is now Tuesday in Pennsylvania & Chicago (Burr Tillstrom's hometown). According to Linn's Stamp News (for philatelists/stamp collectors) the US Postal Service today (Tuesday Augus 11) is issuing a sheet of 20 different stamps AND a booklet of 20 diferent postcards with the theme EARLY TV MEMORIES.

If you are in the US, your post office has these stamps (and maybe the postcards) in stock hopefully. And, you can affix a stamp to an envelope and have it hand cancelled at the Post Office Servce Window August 11th which will be a genuine FDC (First Day Cover) on the First Day of Issue of these stamps.

At 10:30 a.m. at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre of the Academy Of TV, 5230 Lankershim Blvd. at Magnolia in North Hollywood FIRST DAY OF ISSUE ceremonies will be held, open to the public.

This is the same location where the Muppet Stamps celebrated their First Day of Issue.

Of the 20 stamps on one sheet, ONE STAMP HAS "HOWDY DOODY" and ANOTHER has "KUKLA, FRAN & OLLIE". The postcard set includes the same early TV stars as the stamps. All images are shown on an old style TV set.

The site is a short walk from the end of the Metro Rail Line in North Hollywood.
