Years ago Sara Peattie of the Puppeteers' Cooperative wrote a great  
little book, 68 Ways to Make Rally Big Puppets. There are birds in  
there, pretty much like the giant birds that B&P has used over the  
years. You can download the book, or just the pages you'd like, from  
the Puppeteer's Cooperative website: www.gis.net/~puppetco.

They're easy to make.
