I was performing outside on the banks of the Ompompanoosic River and the
corn starch was environmentally friendly and just blew away on the breeze.
But really would a little puff do much harm? It is used on the baby's
whatever!

For years in NY I was taught to dust the inside of hand puppets with talcum
powder which in time made a mess but back then it was make the cue "no
matter what" - that was also in the day of reel to reel tape players. And by
the way, from informal research at the National Festival (I walked around
asking who uses a MP3?) several well known puppeteers are still using reel
to reel! And probably talcum powder...

The sign sounded funny!

Whene we can't use our fog machine (you can get a cheap one for about $50 -
$75) because of smoke alarms we have made a "fire" prop which is a flame
cut-out of wood on a stick covered with sparly fabrics and trim...kids think

it's cool...adults think it cheesy fun!
