A great little book on puppet building is Sara Peattie's 68 Ways to
Make Really Big Puppets. It's simple with lots of sketches and is
only 10 pages. You can download it from The Puppeteer's Cooperative
website: www.gis.net.

You can also click on thumbnail sketches different styles of puppets
to get photos and diagrams for building.
When people ask us for instruction on building big puppets we send
them or refer them to this little book.

Many years ago I saw a video that Sara made based on this book. I
don't know if that is also available.
