He was in the same league as George Latshaw in regard to his puppet mastery and his humanity. My fondest memory of Pady goes back to the Cincinatti/Kentucky Festival where I had the great priveledge of sitting next to him and Alan Cook who were talking puppet history. I asked his advise on bidding for the Baird head of the Whistling Wizard marionette at the silent auction. When I told him I had bid $350 he cringed. I didn't win the auction. Later he asked me in Boston if I had won the bid and he told me how after the Big Baird auction stuff had gone for way more, that it would have been a steal. I lamented, but he suggested I buy a Baird drawing at the puppetry store which was an affordable $40. I bought it and it has been a treasure. He was a caring warm person and extraordinary puppeteer. So here's to Pady on that great marionette bridge in the sky!
