On the old mini mags you could unscrew the lense and expose the bulb
which is so small that it has perfect focus. It is relatively dim,
but in pitch black you can run it through layers of laser cut greeting
cards and get some awesome projected dimensional shadows. Its fun to
project through the surface of wine glasses, cut crystal, the end of a
plastic water bottle or cut the top two inches off a plastic water
bottle and slide the ligth throught the opening and the projection
looks like you are travelling through a time warp. Like I said on its
own it is not bright enough for a show but it is a great parlor trick
at a party. I have considered using one in a show and video
projecting the image to brighten it. The LED version is great too,
but the focus on the halogen mini mag bulbs is intense!
