Many are close to the original Chicago Little Theater figures carved by Katherine/Kathleen Wheeler, a sculptor from England. . But after finally seeing the Pathe clip an hour past midnight, I think Prry did not try to copy the original look for ALL the new puppets' K. Wheeler used redwood. and there are tiny facets produced by the carving tools. Perry's heads are smoother surfaced. I have one large head by Perry, and a few small heads and one full figure (blond boy in red outfit which we were told was "Puck" but I am not sure if it is. The Dilley Puck looks very different. Marjorie Batchelder sold a number of small heads to various collectors. Oberon (shown in the film clip) was painted Gold and is in the Detroit Insitute of Arts collection. _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
