Steve Meltzer was first taken to the UCLA Medical Center where he underwent surgery for a brain tumor. Then he was transferred to The Gardens in Santa Monica, and he was expecting to either stay with his mother in her apartment or possibly return to his own place---but it is best to have someone around to help. There may be further updates from people who check on him, but there are good days. At a Los Angeles Guild Board Meeting in October we had a conference call with him and it was good to hear his voice, and he sounded "up". He had hoped to host the Board Meeting at the Gardens, but parking is a problem in that area. And the Gardens may not have been an ideal meeting spot.
