Subject: [Puptcrit] Myerberg Hansel & Gretel 1954


On page 570, Puppet Theatre in America (expanded version), Marjorie Batchlder McPharlin mentions Myerberg in the context of puppet films. According to publicity in the press (This Week Magazine, a Sunday newspaper supplement we got wih The Los Angeles Times) there were two sizes of puppets. One for full-figure animation, another for closeups and changing facial expressions operated by dials to create smiles, frowns, etcetera. There were plans for a second film which never materialized (Alladin?).

Sky Highchief told me that a fire destroyed the movie puppets which were in storage.
