Really necessary and a fine model!! Thanks Rolande and the other folks involved in your project! jb ________________________________________ From: puptcrit-bounces-AT-puptcrit.org [puptcrit-bounces-AT-puptcrit.org] On Behalf Of Alan Cook [alangregorycook-AT-msn.com] Sent: Saturday, December 05, 2009 12:10 PM To: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Subject: [Puptcrit] Oral History - Ct Guild project I recommend more than one interview session. After the first interview you should have clues for more questions. Many interviewees have not thought about certain answers for so long, that memory fails. But now & then a different slant to a question will produce an "aha moment. The other thing, it helps for older folks especially to be well rested. My recent interview was right after the Atlanta Puppetry Festival. Too much sleep deprivation does not help memory--it did not help mine! -----Original Message----- From: puppetpro-AT-aol.com Sent: Saturday, December 5, 2009 7:21 AM To: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] historic puppets and puppeteers Does anyone ever know history? I should have said I am a student of history. You should by all means post the photo, though. Alan Cook certainly would be able to identify it. In Connecticut we are working on an oral history of the performing members of the Connecticut Guild of Puppetry. Right now we are videotaping interviews. It will be an on-going project for the next several years. Gosh, when I get a chance, I will post a picture of my Thai marionette that came from Smithsonian. He is old, wooden, and about 2 feet tall. Maybe you can recognize him.
