Subject: [Puptcrit] moving scenery

The National Marionettes' recent news video shows tremendous quality as always. I'd like to see "Hansel & Gretel" in person, especially to observe the use of the rolling scenery. Bil Baird used it in his Barrow Street theater years ago for his production of "Winnie the Pooh." It was a great effect, but what I remember more is that the scenery actually made noise as it was rolled up from one side of the stage to the other and was very distracting. Plus, I've always wondered how yards and yards of painted muslin were kept from stretching over time and sagging & sinking to the stage floor. Anyone know?
