Subject: [Puptcrit] Puppet Scale variation

In some exhibits of puppets, I have had the opportunity to use large scale figures along with "more standard" sized puppets.

Simply put, the small stuff has the charm of miniatures, while the big things can be awesome. Many cultures have produced large scale and small scale puppets. There is a wide range iof scale in puppetry (Africa, North America, Europe, and scale variation can be seen even in the stage or setting of the puppets (Japanese parade units with large-scale rigs on which a single puppet may be animated). The variations in puppetry are considerable, but for the general public, that is something the public is mostly unaware of.

So for me, even the existence of great variation in puppetry is something that unites all puppets.
