Subject: Re: [Puptcrit] Are children being exploited by performing a puppet

BTW, according to Webster's, like so many other words, exploit has both
negative and neutral/positive meaning. It means both "to make use of"
and "to make unethical use of for one's own profit." My first reaction
to the original post was that it inferred the negative meaning of
exploit. From the little bit of info in the post, it seemed to me that
there seemed to be much of the neutral/positive meaning in the original
arrangement with the museum - or at least from the each of their
perspectives. Not knowing the full situation and deal, it does seem
that the current arrangement regarding the children's performance
borders on the latter definition - but then again our take may be
colored by feelings, perspective, and the way it is presented to us.
Exploit - to use or abuse? Can be either, or both.
