You know, the trap of seeing what's wrong, and focusing on that, instead of acknowledging it (important step) and then moving on to note the good things, and offer solutions, and share what works for us. I've spoken to puppetry people in this group and from outside, who make it work. They travel a lot or stay mostly local, or do a mix of both. If you are among those, can you share with us what strategies, solutions, actions that work for you? Indeed, as Conrad mentionned, promotion is key. they gotta know we're here and available in order for them to even consider hiring us. But more specifically, can we list the means of better promoting, for any scale of budget? As another example, I have learned that keeping a good relationship with every past customer is key to keep them coming for more, and for them reccomending your work to others. Forgive me for not expanding, I actually have to phone a repeat customer who might have been scared away by a gentle email explaining why I could not lower my prices by more than the 200$ I already did. _______________________________________________ List address: puptcrit-AT-puptcrit.org Admin interface: http://lists.puptcrit.org/mailman/listinfo/puptcrit Archives: http://www.driftline.org
