This is all new to me, I wasn't aware that people are skirting the word "puppetry," using "live animation" instead. It's sort of like used car salesmen talking about "pre-owned vehicles." It makes sense, puppetry is the province of misfits and weirdos in the opinion of many. We start at a disadvantage, being humble and analog, third-world, with our sticks and rags -- puppetry is old-fashioned! I'd say that everyone can call whatever they do whatever they want. Myself, I like the tawdry connotations, so I'm a "puppet-maker" and "puppeteer." I'm committed to taking this old form and trying to make something wonderful happen.
