Subject: [Puptcrit] Higglety Pigglety Pop Film Adaptation

Just did a post on my blog about a new National Film Board of Canada
co-production, Higglety Pigglety Pop (based on the book my Maurice Sendak).
It uses a mix of puppets, actors and animation and clips that have been
released look really good -

The film was directed by Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski, who are best
known for their acclaimed NFB short Madame Tutli Putli which I think has
been discussed here on Puptcrit in the past. The film is being released as
an extra on the DVD for Where The Wild Things Are.

The puppets in the film were built by Vicki Veenstra, who I know only by
reputation as one of the better puppet builders in Canada. I didn't
recognize any of the puppeteers names except Jamie Shannon who is best known
up here as a co-founder of The Grogs, who produce shows like Nanalan', Mr.
Meaty and the monkey puppets Ooh and Aah on Playhouse Disney.
