Born at St.petersburgh in 1969 I have started my literary (in 1983 as a translator of fiction from 12 languages into Russian) early enough to acquire by this time a name that weighs something with Russian readership. My first book-length study - "Anti-Bakhtin" (St.Petersburgh, 1994) - has received a very good press in Russia (11 reviews; in one of those, published in Novoje Literaturnoje Obozrenije /16,1995/, the leading journal in the field, my book was referred to as "the major literary event of this year") along with two positive reviews in the American Slavistic journals. Nevertheless it was my great mistake to pen it in Russian, for the ideas propounded therein are of general interest. Without false modesty I venture to say that today I am the only one Russian scholar who can propound something genuinely fresh and original. Therefore to confine myself to my mother-tongue would be to the detriment of my projects. The first step in pursuit of my aim is The Text Which is D!

My English articles have appeared in such journals as Postmodern Culture (v.7,no.1; a special issue on psychoanalysis; my essay was billed by the editor as "the strongest submission received" and "a very strong contribution to theory and psychoanalysis"; URL: http: jefferson.village.virginia.edu/pmc/issue.996/linetski.996.html), Canadian Review of Comparative Literature etc. 
As for my academic affiliation: I am a lecturer in the English Dept., Hebrew Univ., Jerusalem.
Recently I have completed a ms. (in English)  Bakhtin Laid Bare, Or The Discourse of Innocence (read the book announcement: http://www.shef.ac.uk/uni/academic/A-C/bakh/linetski.html). Whereas my first book was written "against" Bakhtin this one can be dubbed "Pro"-Bakhtin. However not in the conventional sense of  the term:  Bakhtin is subjected to the same operation which Hegel has of yore suffered at the hands of Marx. I hope that the result will be to the same extent revolutionary, refreshing and rewarding.
Now I am at work on two books: the one tentatively entitled The Poetics of Exaggeration, the other - on the discursive significance of money. My address for correspondence:

   arrive anywhere simply because it has not been sent, whereas the
   advice and the money cannot be taken because they were not given. In
   other words there seems to be nothing with which to catch the
   participants of the discursive scene, for the trans(re)ferential
   interpretive net which should have been woven around our three items
   exposes essential gaps, and what is more, these gaps were holed out
   precisely because the advice, the first letter and the money, far from
   being equivalents, relate to each other as cause and effect. Whence

   The celebrated squaring of the doubles which as a fact has been
   already accomplished by Lacan and is propounded in "The Purveyor of
   Truth" by way of criticizing him implies that the narrator relates to
   Dupin as the two advises do to each other, whereas the Minister is to
   the Prefect what an opinion is to the medicine. Which means that it is
   the narrator who is given and has to take the advise, to wit, to use
   the second letter, whereas the Minister who as a fact is absent from
   the scene but virtually is there as the Prefect's double has to
   contend himself with
