I'll agree that what we now call anarchism dates from the 19th century
or so, and that it appealed to many in the working class. But, to say
that it was created solely for the working class of that period is not
correct. If so, it would have died out long ago. After all, there
aren't many 19th century working class folk still walking about.*g*
Anarchism, IMHO, was meant to appeal to as wide a spectrum of the
populace as possible. It is a fluid philosophy that can evolve over
time as society changes, and not some sort of rigid ideology. We need
people of all walks of life to join the cause. Without an overwhelming
majority of society in favor of anarchy, it (society) will never break
free of its oppression.

And just because you don't like a particular group of people, doesn't
mean that they are useless. I am reminded of the stonewall riots in NY.
The "low life" drag queens that many in the "mainstream" gay community
reviled (and still do) were the ones in the streets literally fighting
for the rights for the rest of the community.

Just a thought.
