Because of this Jesus might be inferred by some to have been a carpenter. But the gospels do not say that he was. Further, he was often explicit about telling people not to worry about food, clothing, etc. as God would provide without the necessity of work or savings. He was fed by the people he met in his wanderings. Of course, as you say, this is all predicated on the assumption that a person remotely fitting Jesus's description in the New Testament actually existed... -apm "And why do you worry about clothes?
