I've been asking around about that, and no one here seems to have heard
of it. The only thing similar I've heard of is about that Japanese
exchange student in Louisiana who was shot and killed on Halloween night
a couple of years back. Apparently the home owner came out of his house
to see this kid in his yard and instead of saying something sensible
like "stop or I'll shot," the idiot decided to play NYPD blue and yell
"freeze." The student did not understand what he meant and did not
"freeze" so the "frightened" homeowner shot him to death. The homeowner
was acquitted on all charges. It was a very controversial decision.

On a side note, after the murder, Japanese newspapers started running
columns warning their citizens about "those violent Americans" and how
to avoid getting into trouble by knowing proper American slang.
