Oh come on! Punk hasn't been a threat since 1980. Do you see parents getting more bent out of shape over punk or Marilyn Manson? The only punker I respect are folks like PE or Positive Force in DC. At least they are trying to create a political alternative to the current system. The problem with punk is that it isn't political enough and punk rockers know that. I'm not saying that every punk song should be a political screed, but that the DIY stuff needs to be developed more. Hell, I don't want to see more fake political bands like RATM. "Oh boy, RATM is radical because they have a picture of Che on their CD sleeve." Yeah, you could also find the "Anarchist Cookbook" in the photo of the sleeve of that one album. Boy, are they deep politically. -- Chuck0 +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+ Mid-Atlantic Infoshop http://www.infoshop.org/ Spunk Press http://www.spunk.org/ "All the anarchy you'll ever need, organized neatly and with reassuring authority." -- 1998 Rough Guide to the Internet +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+
