Date: Sat, 6 Feb 1999 16:13:08 -0500 (EST) From: generalissimo ronaldo dickerhoof <lazarus-AT-entropy.muc.muohio.edu> Subject: Re: Here is a question for yous all! one migh consider that the rule of opposing forces must play at least some small role in this. case in point is the influence of the american upperclass on politics. at first, they tended to back the republicans i imagine because they pushed conservative corporate friendly economics. lately, however, the answer to that strategy has been to hold a strong alliance with neither party and the result is that without the loud muss associated with politcicking, they have been able to slip by most of their fiscal policy. simlarly, the obvious and loud bickering of class struggle my distract and actually prevent anarchists from getting influence with the middle class. dropping bombs doesn't win any friends and its effect on the mainstream conscioussness is that it builds resistence to our message. in this way, the actual conflict is what screws us over. i've been saying for years that we ought to push the benefits of an equitable society rather than railing against the current one. conflict will only lead to mor econvlict. better to beat a path to paradise. ron
