my one household chore when i was a kid was crawling under the beds to
clean up the maggot-ridden (by the time we found them) half-eaten rabbits
and birds my cat, benjamin, brought in.  once he left the biggest rabbit i
ever saw in the attic on the sheetrock of my bedroom ceiling.  he had
eaten the head....  damn, that stunk!  once he left only the tail of a
rabbit.  i thought, "how cute!" and kept it; he found it and ate it.
benjamin hunted most of his food; he rarely wanted catfood, but i've know
a lot of cats that hunt only to proudly present their kill to their
person/people in the same way a human hunter might have his kill stuffed
for display....
