I like to buy my books impulse-style, so online shopping is out for me. But then thanks to Borders buying the best independent bookstore in St. Louis (Library Ltd.), I now have my choice between evil corporate giant Borders or evil corporate giant Barnes & Noble. There are a goodly number of independent bookstores here, but they cater primarily to the SF/Romance/Horror/Western crowds. As far as I can tell, I'm in a lose/lose situation until I finally get the courage to open a radical bookstore myself.
